But hold off on the panic! Pediatric sleep apnea is often the hidden culprit behind restless nights, poor grades, and even stunted growth. If you think your little one’s snoring is harmless, it’s time to think again. Let’s uncover this sleep-stealing issue and get everyone back to sound sleep!
The Problem May Not Be What You Think....
Many cases of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) are connected to how our mouths and jaws develop early in life. When the jaw doesn't fully grow, it can lead to OSA, which is more than just a cosmetic concern. This condition can have serious, long-term health consequences.

What Causes Sleep Apnea
Here’s where it gets interesting. While obesity can be a factor, it’s not the only one. Often, it’s all about anatomy:
- Obesity
- Enlarged tonsils and adenoids
- Small jaw or recessed chin
- Certain medical conditions like Down syndrome
The good news? Many of these causes are treatable.
What is Vivos Therapy?
Vivos therapy for your child’s sleep apnea treatment will begin with an evaluation at our Beverly Hills dental office. The evaluation will assess the structure of the upper airway, using advanced imaging tools to keep the process seamless and comfortable.
Our team will use the information gathered at the evaluation to custom-craft a treatment plan based on your child’s unique needs. Typically, treatment will incorporate the Vivos system’s exercises and appliances, specially designed to gradually correct and restore proper airway function.
How Long Does Vivos Therapy Take?
The custom-fitted appliances included in the Vivos treatment system are designed to be worn for several hours a day, with treatment lengths depending on the severity of the symptoms and condition.
At your child’s sleep apnea consultation with Dr. Hanam-Jahr, she will thoroughly assess their needs to create their customized treatment plan.
We Bill Medical Insurance
